Portfolio > A garden design in Duffield
This lovely modern house has a small walled garden behind it that was laid to lawn with planted borders at the edges.
The client likes non-fussy, geometrical design and wanted the garden to provide linked areas for sitting in during the day and evening along with some height for added interest. She is also a keen gardener.
Circles and curves were used to divide the area into pleasing shapes. A brick path encircles a lawn with a segment planted up with box balls and Japanese grasses. The terrace near to the house was re-laid and an evening seating area was provided beneath an arched metal rose crown. Formal clipped arrowhead shapes of Yew will dramatise this area once they have filled out.
