Portfolio > A garden design for a converted barn
Existing site:
The garden faces south at the rear of the property. There is a view of open countryside from here and an existing paved area surrounded by a low wall.
Client brief:
The client likes a modern, clean cut style and would like to use the area for entertaining as well as eating with the family.
Design solution:
The space was divided up with planting beds and a central area gave a space sufficiently large for a table. The modern feel was created using a smooth sandstone and clean lines. A decked upper area provided a space for sofas and chairs and this was framed by a formal planted area of half-standard trees, box and lavender.
At a later date a built - in kitchen area will be added against the brick wall.
