Portfolio > Small Gardens > A garden design with a fire-pit
Existing site:
A small garden where the grass was struggling beneath the tree and the shed was the main focal point.
Client brief:
The garden was to have a contemporary feel and to be a social, accommodating, attractive and low maintenance space.
Design solution:
Slatted screens were used to divide the space up into an area for a fire-pit and an area for eating outside. These give the garden its contemporary feel. They also screen the shed and their height helps to bring the tree into scale. A brick fire-pit was built with a simple wooden bench next to it. A raised bed of oak sleepers was added as a herb garden and the remaining planting will cloak the fences and walls and set off the Cedar screens.
