Portfolio > Small Gardens > A garden design for a Victorian house
Existing Site:
The clients have lovingly restored their Victorian house and wanted the garden at the side of the property to reflect this.
Client Brief:
The style was to be traditional and some Victorian tiles and edgings that had been unearthed during the renovations were to be used if possible. The shady border against the wall was visible from the dining room and was to be of interest throughout the year.
Design solution:
The area was divided up with angular paths with a central square for a small coffee table and chairs. Reclaimed red clay tiles were used as a border detail around the paving and raised clay edgings were used around some of the borders. Photographs show the garden in early and late summer the year of planting.
